rsETH/wstETH: 72.7% price impact in 108 seconds — what the pool data shows

On April 18, 2026, block 24909082 hit the rsETH/wstETH Uniswap v3 pool on Ethereum. In one transaction consuming 3,532,244 gas, the BtoAPrice moved from its stable 1.157 to 4.240 — rsETH priced at 0.236 wstETH instead of its normal 0.864. A 72.7% price impact. Two blocks later, an arb corrected it. Total duration: 108 seconds.

The pool held ~952 rsETH and ~0.44 wstETH ($1.9M total). That thinness is the story — concentrated Uniswap v3 liquidity absorbs normal flow efficiently, but a single large transaction crossing all active ticks moves price non-linearly. The same swap in a $200M pool barely registers.

What the data also shows: two high-gas transactions (3.1M gas each) at 19:03 and 20:10 UTC — 5 minutes before the shift — visible in the pool event log.
